As most of you know, my son Bobby has Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma and is undergoing chemotherapy. Because of this, he has not had a very pleasant life for the last 2 1/2 months. He will be returning to the hospital next week for another round of chemo.We wanted to do something fun for Bobby before the next treatment. Yesterday, Bobby and I visited Fort Pulaski, which is a pre-civil war fort near Savannah, GA that has been turned into a national monument. We had a great time looking at canons, magazine (gunpowder) barrels, underground passages, and the moat. The gator was a thrill. We learned a lot about the battle for this fort that took place in 1862.
I have attached photos from our trip. One photo is of a plaque that details the story of the 1862 battle. Another picture is of a sign that tells of John Wesley's visit to Georgia in the 1730's.
