Voddie Baucham on the SBC and Calvinism

Voddie Baucham, one of my few living heroes within the SBC, has written an interesting blog post about his experience within the Southern Baptist Convention. Here's a hint: now that people know he is a Calvinist, he is no longer favored among the SBC's elite.

"That is, until I came out of the closet. No... I’m not gay. It’s far worse than that. I’m a Calvinist!"

I about wet my pants when I read that! I'm glad that there was some humour thrown in there, b/c honestly, a lot of what he had to say was really disheartening. I think that on some issues, Christians need to 'agree to disagree'...obviously the SBC has Calvinists and non-Calvinists, and it just seems like they would be more effective if they didn't care so much about it.

Rhea,

I agree that we should agree to disagree. There is no reason to split the SBC over this issue.
