Voddie Baucham, one of my few living heroes within the SBC, has written
an interesting blog post about his experience within the Southern Baptist Convention. Here's a hint: now that people know he is a Calvinist, he is no longer favored among the SBC's elite.

John,
I'll have to check it out. Thanks.
"That is, until I came out of the closet. No... I’m not gay. It’s far worse than that. I’m a Calvinist!"
I about wet my pants when I read that! I'm glad that there was some humour thrown in there, b/c honestly, a lot of what he had to say was really disheartening. I think that on some issues, Christians need to 'agree to disagree'...obviously the SBC has Calvinists and non-Calvinists, and it just seems like they would be more effective if they didn't care so much about it.
Rhea,
I agree that we should agree to disagree. There is no reason to split the SBC over this issue.
