The Bible on Wordle

Wordle is a fun program that I recently stumbled across while on line. According to its website, "Wordle generates word clouds from text that you provide. The clouds give greater prominence to words that appear more frequently in the source text."

I decided to enter 15 of my favorite bible passages to see what would happen. It's very interesting to see which words occur most frequestly. As is appropriate, the word "God" shows up quite often.

The pictures on this page are a little small. I encourage you to click directly on the pictures so that you can see them bigger.

Genesis 1-2

II Samuel 7:1-16

Psalm 145

Isaiah 53

Matthew 5-7 "The Sermon on the Mount"

John 1:1-18

John 17

Romans 8

I Corinthians 13

II Corinthians 5:11-21

Ephesians 2:1-10

Philippians 2:5-11

Hebrews 1:1-3

I Peter 1:3-9

Mr. Eric,
I have been reading your blog for quite some time now. Almost as long as i've been signing Bobbys Caring Bridge site. I just wanted to let you know that i admire you & look foward to reading your thoughts. I finally went to the Christian bookstore & bought the book Hard Things & greatly look foward to reading it on my way to Alaska. You & your family are always in my prayers. I have never met you but i just wanted to let you know that I appreciate your determination to not conform to the ways of the world or even religion. Thank you.
Your Sister in Christ,
Stephanie Deal

Stephanie,

Thank you for your kind words and for reading this blog. I especially want to thank you for your prayers for Bobby during his chemotherapy. We praise the Lord that Bobby is doing well now. We see no signs of a relapse.

I'm glad you bought "Do Hard Things." That book was challenging to me and I'm, obviously, not even a young adult. I'm glad that you are not living down to the world's expectations.

In Christ, Eric

Good stuff, here, Eric. I hope you'll take a minute to drop by The Wordle Bible, which is where I am creating a Wordle for each chapter of the Bible, starting with Genesis 1, one day at a time. It's a simple project, and I'm enjoying it very much.
